Comments: This restaurant is fun and the food is good but be prepared with your wallet as it is WAY overpriced. 4 people with 1 $25 bottle of wine was $180. A bit much for what you get.

Favorites: Chocolate Fondue
Comments: Place is nice, service excellent, food way over-priced and not enough for the price, veggies were a little brown. The chocolate fondue was excellent, highly recommend it but don't recommend the fondue for 2.

Restaurant: The Melting PotLocation: Kansas city
Cuisine: FonduePrice: $$$ moderate
Ambience: ** very goodNotes:
Food: * averageNotes: I thought it was expensive for all the work you have to do
Service: * averageNotes: Our waiter wasn't very good - talked fast!!
Favorites: Chocolate Foundue
Comments: I would never EVER go back to the melting pot again... I went to try it - didn't like it... AT ALL. I thought the food was expensive (especially when you have to cook it yourself) our waiter was rude and talked super fast - so we had no idea what we were doing! Portions were really small - steam from the fondue pot went in peoples faces and you couldn't hold a conversation. I will say - the chocolate fondue was very good. I would ONLY go back just for dessert. Otherwise don't waste your money!

Restaurant: The Melting PotLocation: Kansas city
Cuisine: FonduePrice: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: * averageNotes: patrons wearing t-shirts and shorts for a $50 meal??
Food: * averageNotes: rip off
Service: poorNotes: waiter seemed to hate his scripted job
Favorites: any desert
Comments: Dinner for 4 was $200 and we didn't have drinks. Meat and seafood was what you would expect at Denny's. Would you believe $25 for 6 oz. SIRLOIN and 5 small (50- 60 ct.) shrimp? The cheese fondue was like shredded Sargento with Worcheshire sauce to dip pieces of stale bread that the plaza pigeons would reject. No wonder there was no wait on a Saturday night. Some of the other reviewers must be a member of the management. Micro some cheese, plop cheap meat in boiling water- you'll get the same thing, and be $200 ahead.

Restaurant: Melting PotLocation: The Plahza
Cuisine: fonduePrice: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: *** excellentNotes: dark and cozy - great date place, but bring your AmEx
Food: ** very goodNotes: Cheese & Dessert are primo
Service: *** excellentNotes: They know what they're doing
Favorites: Wisconsin cheese blend fondue & turtle dessert fondue
Comments: Don't get sucked into the full meal. Costs too much, and it's too much food. Go with the intention of ordering only a pot of cheese and a pot of dessert fondue. Not so expensive that way, and you'll have plenty to eat. Cheese and chocolate are to die for.

Restaurant: Melting PotLocation: Plaza
Cuisine: AmericanPrice: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: ** very goodNotes: very cozy - romantic for 2 people
Food: ** very goodNotes: Quantity of meat was good
Service: * averageNotes: Waiter was full of himself
Favorites: Dessert fondue
Comments: This was a fun place to try once. We went with 2 other couples - might be better with just two people. Food was WAY overpriced for having to cook it yourself (dinner [no dessert] w/ 2 glasses of wine and 1 beer=$95). The meat platter was large but they skimped on veggies. The waiter made the place unattractive - rattled off cooking instructions too quickly and seemed to be rather impressed with himself.

Cuisine: FonduePrice: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: ** very goodNotes: Good bar
Food: * averageNotes: The "feature" including prime meats is not prime at all
Service: *** excellentNotes: Excellent and prompt
Favorites: Martinis
Comments: Best part about the Melting Pot is their $5 wine tasting on Thursdays. Generous pours, great wines, and superb ambiance. Martinis are also excellent. Wouldn't eat here - food is entirely overpriced. Prime cuts of meat are mediocre. Great drinks, though. Go for the wine tasting.

Restaurant: Melting PotLocation: Country Club Plaza
Cuisine: (fondue)Price: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: * averageNotes: Too dark, especially when you need to cook your own food!
Food: * averageNotes: Considering what you get is raw meat...
Service: * averageNotes: Waiters are scripted and frustrated when asked lots of ????s
Favorites: Bleu cheese fondue
Comments: Wow... This place is WAY overpriced! We went for a birthday evening with 2 other couples and it was very confusing... hard to find things that everyone could agree on... The main course (meat) you cook yourself... and I think we ended up with food poisioning as it's hard to keep track of how long you've been cooking your food... definitely take a timer with you! For 2 of us (with drinks) our bill was $200...

Comments: 4 of us arrived, and it the ambience looked cool. THE WAITER ROLLED HIS EYES when I told him I wanted to split a meal! He seemed irritated throughout the entire dinner and didn't seem to want to serve us. Food was nothing special. Not worth the money, AND I LEFT HUNGRY!
