Comments: this place was by far the worst ive ever been. i should of gone to Macdonalds. we waited to speak to a manager for 30 minutes. the food was served cold and our glasses were empty for 15mins. and then after we complained the manager told us to just pay the tip and the food would be free and we refused to pay the tip because the waiter sucked and we will only tip for a job well done . not a sucky one .. go to macdonalds or anywhere else, but not here

Comments: This is one of my favorite spots for lunch. We always get good service, and can get in & out in 45 min or less. The food is excellent, especially the curries, and the ginger shrimp. Also, don't miss out on the spring rolls, crab rangoon, or Hot & Sour Soup (best in KC).

Comments: This is by far the best Thai restaurant in the area. The food is outstanding and their specialty drinks are really fun. The staff treats you like you are the most important person in the place and the lunch menu prices are very reasonable. Take-out is also very quick and easy.

Comments: A girlfriend and I tried Thai Place for lunch one afternoon. It was 1:30 so the lunch rush had passed. We stood in the front of the restaurant for 5 minutes waiting to be seated. We finally went and found someone and they seated us. We then waited at our table for 25 minues before finally getting up and physically getting someone to take our order. If it had been just me I would have left, but my friend wanted to try the food. The food was good, but I won't be going back and paying for such poor service.

Comments: Thai Place is by far and large the best restaurant in the Blue Springs/Independence area. The atmosphere is an all-around delight, not to mention authentically Thai! The food is mind-blowing and the service is phenomenal. Anyone who says otherwise is plumb mad.

Comments: Ever since they have expanded, Thai Place place has gone from reliably excellent to "hit or miss". Unfortunately, they are missing more than hitting. Last time I ate there the service was slow and indifferent and the food was terrible.

Food: * averageNotes: The food is average. Value is poor.
Service: * averageNotes: Service was fine but not exceptional.
Favorites: Uhdon (sp?) Chicken but it was never a menu item, only a special.
Comments: Food is average and seems to have fallen off some since this location has opened. I feel the price of the dishes are high relative to the quality and quantity. I used to get the coconut shrimp. It is about $10. The shrimp have gotten smaller and have been overcooked the last two times I have had them. And the amount of sweet potatoe fries that accompanied the shrimp has continually shrunk. Last time I ordered food from the Thai Place was a carry out order. I was shocked that the order came to $51. A similiar order Tea Garden (Chinese Rest. @ 127th & Mur Len) was $28. I will not be returning.

Comments: Last night (12/16/04) I had dinner here and I found a piece of hair in my food. The waiter came by and picked up my dish and said he would bring me a new one. The owner or the waiter came by to say sorry about the matter. They said that I would have to still pay for my meal becuase I requested a new dish. They never gave me the option. I feel that they have poor customer service and that the food is just average.

Comments: I've eaten at the locations in Westport, Lee's Summit and both in Overland Park. Ambience and food are good, service is okay to poor and the prices seem too high. $11ish for some noodles is really a bit much. I go here occasionally but I think the management is a bot too full of itself.

Favorites: Used to be Mother-in-Law Beef
Comments: For several years I was a regular customer at Thai Place located at 87th & Grant. Fantastic food, although the manager had a real attitude problem -- his nose was always in the air and could never smile or speak to a customer. Waitstaff were excellent. When the new location at 119th & Quivira opened, I decided to give it a try. Have been there probably 4 times and each time the food is worse. My favorite dish used to be made with chopped beef, now it is made with pre-cooked ground beef and very little sauce. On my last visit, it was very dry with no sauce (a mixture of fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sweet sauce) so I asked the waitress to have the cook add a bit more sauce. When she came back to my table, she was carefully balancing the bowl so the approximately two full cups of liquid didn't spill out over the rim. It was like hamburger soup and tasted way too strongly of fish sauce. This dish is priced at something like $14. Way, way too much for a bowl of hamburger soup. I will not go back. Thai Treasure is an excellent restaurant in my neighborhood (151st & 69 Hwy) where the food is fresh, prepared correctly, and served by happy waiters with a desire to make the customer happy.
