Restaurant: BB's Lawnside BBQLocation: 85th street, kcmo
Cuisine: BBQPrice: $$ inexpensive
Ambience: tackyNotes: very loud, poor service.
Food: substandardNotes: Jack Stack or KC Materpeice are by far the places to go
Service: poorNotes: RUDE! Dirty, what more can I say
Favorites: nothing
Comments: We went there because it was always crowded so we thought it must be good, and being down from Strouds Chicken we gave it a try, We regret it. it was a 30 min wait then we sit down and our waitress says how are you and we as most people said good, how are you? ... boy we should'nt have asked cause she complained about how she had to work that night and her baby's dad didnt pay her and just her life story. as if that wasnt bad enough it took about 45 min for our food, (the waitress had forgot to put our ticket in) then I didnt even get what I ordered, I had enough and went to the manager and was told how sorry they were, I told them the food was'nt what I ordered and this whole experiance was horrible and didnt feel I should have to pay, well ended up being that I did'nt pay for mine but even though my husband didnt eat his he was expected to pay his, they did offer me another entree but I declined, I felt they did'nt try hard enough to make up for the mistakes, to top all of it off the live music they had that night was not very good.

Restaurant: BBs Lawnside BBQLocation: 85th and Holmes
Cuisine: BarbecuePrice: $$ inexpensive
Ambience: *** excellentNotes: Great Blues Feel!
Food: *** excellentNotes: Fantastic BBQ
Service: *** excellentNotes: Attentive and courteous... they have fun!
Favorites: Pulled Pork, Ribs, Beans
Comments: If you love the blues, you've found your home! Hands down some of the best live blues music available in KC. Couple that with an unmatchable atmosphere and unmistakably smokey BBQ and you've got BBs. BBs offers a great expereince all the way around, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take a little step back in time and experience "real" blues. Personally, my wife and I are huge fans of the regular Sunday night band: Lee McBee and the Confessors.

Restaurant: Famous Dave'sLocation: KCK-next to the Kansas Speedway
Cuisine: BBQPrice: $$$ moderate
Ambience: ** very goodNotes: a little classier than typical barbeque
Food: ** very goodNotes: Served hot, good protions, excellent flavor
Service: ** very goodNotes: _
Favorites: ribs
Comments: Wow! These are the best ribs I've had in a long time. I could eat them without sauce, they were smoked to perfection. Meat was tender on the inside and chewy on the outside-with little to no fat! Portion size was good-but a little expensive. The beans had a slow, burn to them, just enough kick to wake you up. I prefer Summit or Jack Stack's beans though. I thought the price for the beans were expensive ($4/pint). Plan ahead the wait is usually 30 minutes or better. You just have to wait in line for good barbeque!

Favorites: Best beans ever! burnt ends are wonderful
Comments: I lived in the area for years, then moved to Nashville, then Atlanta, now I'm in Cheyenne WY. Don't you think the south or wild west could have a decent BBQ place? I can't find a place to compare to them!! It's the one place I go to every time I visit KC. My mouth is watering just thinking about their beans!

Restaurant: Jim & Mary's Bar-B-QueLocation: 4909 King Hill Ave, (Next to Dairy Queen) St. Joseph, MO
Cuisine: Bar-B-QuePrice: $ bargain
Ambience: * averageNotes: Trailer used for catering serves good BBQ at this vacant lot
Food: ** very goodNotes: If your mama made good BBQ, it would taste
Service: *** excellentNotes: Jim is friendly and enthusiastic about his love of good food
Favorites: Sandwiches of Pulled Pork, Brisket. Sides of Cole Slaw and Potatoe Salad.
Comments: Jim is the Billy Graham of BBQ, an evangelist with a grill and a dream. They operate a clean walk up from a trailer that is used for catering. Thier grill is half as long as the trailer itself. Jim's enthusiasm and love of what he does shows in the quality of the food. I submit this review because I'm a real fan and this place is not in the phone book, since it only has a cell phone (816) 262-6108. It's only a few blocks from beautiful Hyde Park, which is a great place to enjoy this food. For Yahoo mappers, etc, look for the Dairy Queen on King Hill Ave. You won't be dissapointed. Hours are 11-1:30 We, Th; 11-7:00 Fri, Sat; 11-2:00 Sun.

By the way, do not forget their ribs, beans, and everything else as well. I've never been dissapointed in the ten years I have been going there.
