pretty good. Restaurant is decorated in a 50's/60's diner style complete
with a jukebox playing the oldies which adds to the atmosphere. Self serve
A&W Root Beer from a keg like setup was neat also. I think the combining
of 2 or more restaurants in one place is a pretty good idea and allows
everyone to get what they want to eat and cuts down on debate over where
to go. |

| Comments: | As many may already know, Planet Sub is owned by Yellow Sub--the classic sandwich shop in Lawrence that all KU students know and (for many at least) love. The sandwiches are the same as Yellow sub's, and the menu is the same. If you eat the subs there, they taste very fresh.
As of this writing, it seems that most people are not aware of Planet Sub--the place is always dead. But it's definately worth trying out. The variety of subs and the quality of the ingredients (including the bread) make it a step above most of the chain sub shops that compete with it in terms of price and offering. While Planet Sub offers plenty of the classics (i.e., meatball grinders, the Dagwood (loaded with meats and cheese), tuna, and the club, they also have an array of veggie subs as well that go beyond the boring cheese and lettuce combo. For instance, the Mexicali with guacamole, fresh salsa, sprouts, and cream cheese, is terrific, as is my favorite, the Veggie Planet Sub, which consists of fresh red peppers, marinated artichoke hearts, provolone, and an olive spread.
Next time you have to go to Target, work in a stop at Planet Sub. |

sandwiches. I don't have to anymore... Planet Sub is the same thing! I will say, however, that the snadwiches are much smaller than Yello's Sub's in Lawrence. I used to order a half and be stuffed, at Planet Sub I have to order a whole to be full. Quality of the food is always amazing, regardless of the size. |
